I don't have his ESPN profile in front of me, but I believe that he has a combined 3,700 hits in both the Nippon Pro League and the MLB

Congrats Ichiro. He's one of the best in the sport and I'm glad he made the move to the US so that we get to see him play. 200 hits in a season is an impressive accomplishment. 9 years in a row is just outstanding. Despite his split time in Japan/US we'll see him in Cooperstown.

It would be a shame of he didn't...eventually they will have a whole wing at the HOF for the Japanese players who have come over, and even the ones that haven't that were so successful in their home land. Some very good talents!

To answer the question as to why I boo'd...because I hate him, his dumb little stance, his elbow padding, and him swinging like a girl. There that enough?

Besides Ichiro who? He is the only one that was as advertised that has come over. Matsui? Nothing like he was supposed to be. Dice-K? Good last year, sucked this year after everyone figured him out. Nomo? Good for a while, then was figured out. That guy for the Cubs? Sucked.

9 straight seasons is an MLB record. The guy is a lock for Cooperstown..
