TD!! 17-14 Irish!

Michigan has no answer for ND's wr's. As long as ND plays smart the rest of the game i don't see anyway Michigan can stop them.

20-14 Irish

ND looks really good. If they can just clean a few things up they could blow this open in the second half.

Michigan kicks a FG to end the half, ND 20-17.

Irish had 302 yards in the first half. They just can't give up any big plays in the second half. If they do that they should be fine.

Very good game.

ND has a good team. I actually thought they would win this one.

But congrats UM. Wow, a great win for them.

Is Charlie's hot seat a little hotter now. I thought it was obvious that Notre Dame had the better talent.

Weis can't win any game that matters. Notre Dame has very good talent.

The worst thing for ND might be 9-2 and then play a BCS bowl game.

Weis would keep his job and Urban Myer might be lost to ND forever.

Unless ND relaxes the recruiting rules...even URBAN couldnt win at Notre Dame.

The recruiting classes have been great. There's a ton of talent on this team. Weis just can't get it done in crunch time.

You can't really blame Charlie Weis and Notre Dame for faltering in this one because their offense did their job when they had the ball. You can only blame Tate Forcier for really putting on a great show and a clutch performance. If he isn't a household name by now, he'll be one by the end of September and definitely by the end of the year.

Notre Dame hasn't won one big game under Weis. In 5 years not once has his team risen to the occasion and won a game that truly mattered. My guess is they lose 2 or 3 more games, 2 of which will be games they should win, and he's fired. This loss is going to be very very difficult for him to over come imo.

I agree that they haven't won the big games that matter and have always been kind of overrated a bit. However, what I was saying applied to this game only, and not to all the games that ND has played in the past. I just felt the win was because of Tate Forcier's spectacular performance...not because of Notre Dame's undoing. Despite collapsing in the 3rd quarter, they pulled themselves together when they were trailing 31-21 in the 4th quarter, and took the lead with a couple minutes left. Sometimes a player can do things in the clutch that no one sees coming, and that is what Tate Forcier for Michigan did at the end of the game, and those kind of clutch moments are seemingly impossible to stop, no matter what sport you're talking about.

Oh, and I agree that this loss will be hard for Charlie Weis to take. This game had an enormous impact on both Weis and Rodriguez and both needed the win bad to ward off some of the pressure on them at least momentarily. This was definitely one of those games that kind of makes the winner gain momentum for a great season and the loser snowball into a mediocre one.
