MSU up 10-0 late in the first. MSU running the ball well, and their defense is dominating so far. Still early.

Excellent drive by UT-M ends in a TD. Missouri State with the ball and driving at the UT-M 12.

MSU 10, UT-M 7, middle 2nd.

Kirby with the QB keeper for the TD. MSU up 17-7 with 9:20 left in the half.

And the Sugar Bears look good as always. Sunrise, sunset. :)

MSU and UT-M trade midfield possessions, UT-M's ending via 4th-down possession failure, and MSU via INT. MSU runs out the clock, and it's 17-7 Bears at the half.

Nyghtewynd,

Are you watching the game? Just wondering how well UTM is playing. We've lost some key players. Just hoping we can pull together what we've got and come out with some productive plays.

I am watching the game...I pay for MSU's streaming service. UTM is playing OK, especially since getting out of the first quarter. They've had a couple of drives stall at midfield, but they're certainly in the game.

MSU's marching band is currently play MacArthur Park. Yes, it's as horrific as you can imagine.

The name of the third quarter is LONG drives...UT-M had their first long drive of the quarter end with a missed FG, and MSU capitalizes with a Cooper-Falls 13yd TD run. Bears lead 24-7 with 5:15 left in the quarter. C-F is becoming a very functional young RB for MSU.

UT-M's Barksdale goes over the top after a long drive from 2 yards for the Skyhawks TD. Late in the third, it's still it doubt at 24-14 MSU.

A long Tennessee-Martin drive goes for naught as they miss a 38-yard FG. Missouri State remains up 10, 24-14 with 9:55 left in the fourth. UT-M has missed two FGs and had a third blocked today.

Huge play, as MSU's Dobson fumbles the ball trying to stretch out a run and UT-M takes over in MSU territory with about six minutes to go and new life. Still 24-14 Bears.

The MSU defense steps up again as they force UT-M into a four-and out with about four minutes left. Bears still up 24-14 and trying to burn clock with 2:30 left.

And the game will end with a UT-M roughing-the-punter call which allows for the victory formation and the win. Missouri State wins 24-14 in what could be described a very workmanlike effort. Not fancy, but effective.

On paper it looks like UTM had a chance to give Missouri State a little bit of a scare. Too many missed opportunities though. Tough break. Now we get to look forward to next week at Memphis.

What a... weird game, for lack of better wording.

Lots of penalties and turnovers. Bad plays both ways, but the MSU defense did a GREAT job slowing down UTM and their good offense.

MSU played the entire second half "not to lose" instead of playing to win, or the score could have been in the 35-21 range.
