If you check out the Georgetown game notes you will find the Depth Chart is not especially helpful in that it is from November 2008 game with Fordham. I guess the SID is busy with the basketball media guide. DFW Hoya, please get them to get their act together.xnonox

As great a guy as DFW is. Isn't it a bit much to ask of the poor guy???

The SID at Georgetown is great and does a lot of work for a program he knows that almost no one on campus cares about.

Georgetown boasted of 19 returning starters. Then look at what happened last night. The team is no better.

The Hoyas are in over their heads and we all recognize that. They had a tough start, playing preseason no. 1, Holy Cross, coming out of the gate, and then Lafayette, the team with the best defense in the League in week 2. They did have some positives come out of the game.

The game was, for all intents and purposes, over at the half. As was stated in the Allentown, PA paper however, "Georgetown, to its credit,...did not mail it in at halftime."

Soph. QB Brady played a decent 2nd half and freshman Kempf showed promise in the closing moments.

RB Houghton was very effective, particularly as a kick returner.

The defense played pretty well. They were just on the field too long. They were consistently able to stuff Lafayette on 3rd and short - even early when the game was still up for grabs. They forced Lafayette up top more than most observers thought would happen. DL Schaetzke looks like he could play for anyone in the PL, and DB Heimuli stood out also.

Conclusion: Neither of these first two games is a fair test as to whether Georgetown has taken any steps in the right direction. Let's see how they perform against a lesser defense, one that gives them some breathing room - and gives their own defense time to catch its breath.

The 19 returning starters thing is a myth and a number of guys who got significant playing time last year, or the year before, quit the team this offseason.

As for Schaeztke and Heimuli, they both had a couple of D1 offers coming out of HS. Heimuli was seriously considering going to Hawaii over Georgetown.
