Does anyone know the date of this years game?
And what's a good hotel to stay at in Chatty? Something reasonable to the stadium and close to downtown bars?

December 18th, 2009
here's a page on the official NCAA site with info on the game:

sidenote: evidently Stefanie Wittler, Miss Tennessee 2009, will be singing the Anthem. I dunno about anyone else, but this picture of her (http://grfx.cstv.com/confs/ncaa/graphics/champpage/stefanie.jpg) just plain scares me. yikes.

Location-wise, the Staybridge Suites has been my favorite hotel. It's closest to the stadium, but was badly overbooked in 2007. Me and about 5 of my friends reserved a suite with 2 double beds and a pull-out sofa. We got one queen bed. It happened to lots of people.
A lot of the hotels closest to the stadium now require a minimum 2-night stay. I noticed the other day that the Staybridge, Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo-Choo, and Mariott Convention Center had no availability for Friday December 18th.

I stayed in the Marriott in 2007 because my brother was able to get a free room with his points. Turned out to be great since that's where the Hens were staying. After the game I got to meet and hang out with Tubby, Scott Brunner and Joe Flacco. xthumbsupx xthumbsupx

Same here. Booked a suite for 5 and ended up with one bed. At least we had a room. Really enjoy the restaurants near the water so if we are lucky enough to go back we will stay down there.
