An interesting read ... talks about football at all levels (FBS, FCS, II, III and NAIA)

Old Schools, New Football Programs (http://www.fftoolbox.com/college-football/article.cfm?article_id=14)

Nearly 30 schools have added football during the last decade, and it appears to be a trend that will continue into the future as more and more schools capitalize on the sport's ability to attract student-athletes, energize campus life, increase a school's media visibility, and boost alumni support. In addition to football's ability to bring in male applicants, the sport also plays a role in attracting students interested in band, cheerleading, sports journalism, sports business, exercise science and other related areas of study.

I expect to see more schools from the south and midwest add football but in the northeast and west coast I dont see it happening much. All the California schools that dont have football and the northeast catholic schools that dont have it wont be following the trend and adding football.

UD added football 146 years after the school was founded. That said, UD's football program started in 1889. LOL

Yes, but the sport wasn't 'invented' until 1869...;)

Nor Texas.

Old Dominion began again with a win over Chowan. They will play Virginia Union on Saturday. All home games at the newly refurbished Forman Field are sold out.
