Portland State football: Jerry Glanville said he's ready to play the Beavers tomorrow; school presidents make bet
With the season opener against Oregon State in Corvallis less than a week away, Portland State coach Jerry Glanville came off the practice field Saturday morning with one question: Why wait?
Glanville isn’t suggesting that his team is ready to pull off what would qualify as a huge upset when the Vikings face the Beavers in next Saturday’s 11:35 a.m. game at Reser Stadium, although he might be thinking that.
It’s just that the Vikings’ third-year coach seems convinced that his team has accomplished almost everything it had set out to do through the first three weeks of pre-season camp, and he said his team isn’t likely to get significantly better or worse in the five practices remaining before Saturday.
The only thing left to do now is play the game.
