Be nice if we could do the MVC proud by having a solid win over EIU tonight. I know EIU has a lot of talent returning, but common, its EIU. We've dominated the OVC this decade and as bad as we might be this year, I'd like to think we could win or stay within a touchdown of the Blue Cats. Psyched up for Coach Spack's debut, ISU GO! :)

For those who want to know what it's like being an FCS fan in Chicago, this is likely the most coverage all 4 Illinois FCS teams will get in the Tribune all season. In any case, nice to see they could fit us in between a dozen pages on the Bears meaningless preseason game tonight, and the Cubs/Sox make-up today.

And if you're "proud", or "fortunate" to be in the NIT your basketball program/conference has hit bottom. Just a few years ago the MVC was a 4 bid conf, but the BCS is making sure that never happens again.

Our line play on both sides of the ball was DISMAL. Just a plain old fashioned butt whoopin'.

BTW, EIU has a nice new scoreboard in the North end zone, but christ, they're charging $17 for general admision seating to get into that dump. I think I remember the playoff game a couple years ago being something like 11 or 12 bucks. Nice job by EIU of taking advantage of a team from not too far away that travels pretty well.

Had a fair amount of pretty good talent for a couple of seasons, been a big drop off lately. I think the skill position guys are pretty decent this year, but based on what I saw last night, we don't have a line on either side of the ball. If it's a technique issue, they'll be able to fix it, if it's a skill issue, we be in a world of hurt.
