Figure I give some exposure to my Hornets this year by giving them a dedicated thread for this upcoming year. Coming off a disappointing 5-6 season, a changing of the guard at the QB position, and an controversial off-season involving scheduling, the Hornets have all the looks of a rebuilding year. But that is why the games are played on the field. It's time to get some excitement brewing down south of the canal. xthumbsupxxthumbsupxxthumbsupx

I really think that with Anthony Glaud as our starting QB, who is a true pocket passer with some running ability (as opposed to Winton who was a true RUNNING quarterback with SOME passing ability), Coach Lavan can now open up the playbook and use it to its full potential, which was the main problem that I had with the previous QB for years, that his constant scrambles, although makes for some exciting "Sportscenter-esque" plays, ruined the continuity of the offense and the O-line especially.

Let the QBs throw the ball
The WRs catch the ball
The OLs protect you
and the RBs run the ball
sounds simple right...?

Maybe we'll be able to do that this year...:p

5 days till Tally.
FAMU is picked by some to challenge SC St for MEAC supremacy this year.
And their fans are privately (and shamelessly publicly as well) saying that this is the year the MEAC makes a run in the FCS playoffs and they're the team to do it.
Haven't heard any official word on the status of DSU's season, due to the Michigan fiasco and the A&T forfeit, in regards to our eligibility for the MEAC crown. However I hope that our team goes into this slate of games full-bore and prepared to win. I would love to see DSU build a strong fanbase in Southern Delaware and bring in the money and support to upgrade our facilities (that "high school" stadium should be #1 priority).

2 days til Tally:

My hopes for this game.

For the offense:
- A balanced attack (60%/40% run-pass)
- 30 to 35 carries for the running backs
- 17 to 22 pass attempts for Glaud
- Developing more of a vertical passing game, play action, 4 and 5-wide sets.
- No more than 3 sacks given up by the offensive line
- Win time of possession

For the defense:
- Hold FAMU to under 28 points.
- Do not allow a 100 yd rusher.
- Generate pressure from front four, w/o the blitz.
- Get at least 3 sacks on the QBs (Vann or Pulley)
- FAMU 3rd down completion under 40%

And of course, our 5th straight win in this series xcoolx

Vann isn't a QB...he doesn't even play on offense.

My mistake xpeacex

Curtis Pulley is the QB

Leroy Vann is the DB

I was thinking of Eddie Battle. The second QB in FAMU two-QB system.
Pulley likes to run and Battle is the big arm right Big Dawg? Or is it vice-versa?

It doesn't matter. You will also see Ukpai and Trainor, our 3d and 4th QB's!
