SHSU Announces Blake Joseph as Starting Quarterback

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - In a ‘tweet’ this afternoon, Sam Houston State formally announced that Blake Joseph will be the starting quarterback for the Bearkats when they take on Western Illinois next Thursday.

According to the announcement when he was added to the roster on Aug. 4, Joseph completed 120-of-184 passes for 1,581 yards and had 10 touchdowns while a member of the University of Houston football squad.

I do not think this is a big surprise in the least bit.

Joseph is a "fill-in" between Bomar and the quarterbacks we have working their way up. I'd be hard-pressed to think that a healthy Welch and maybe a healthy Copeland next year will not be better than that of Joseph.
