The Boston Red Sox had a 7.5 game* lead over the New York Yankees.

36 games later both teams were tied and a playoff game was held in which Bucky "****ing" Dent broke the hearts of Sox fans.

Moral of the story? Don't count your chickens before they hatch....

*New York currently has a 6 game lead over Boston.... Nothing is over yet.

So are you saying the Red Sox are going to choke away the wild card lead this time?

Every team has had atleast one player who was or is or will be caught for PED's...your nickname for the Red Sox is pretty lame.

The Red Sox don't have Aaron Boone, either.

They should forget about the division and focus on holding off the Rangers and Rays for the Wild Card.

Ya Boston has real players not a bunch of one-hit wonders xwhistlex The Red Sox are focused on making the playoffs... but my point is that people shouldn't assume the Yankees have the division won. Will they lose the division? unlikely, but not impossible.
