College Football: Defense looks to be Cal Poly?s strength this year
Junior quarterback says possession will be a key to success
The Cal Poly football team is beginning to take shape, and the man first in line to lead the offense has a clear vision of what his unit should look like this season.
“This team just needs to possess the ball,” junior quarterback Tony Smith said. “We have a good enough defense, and this defense is veteran enough to know they’re bend but don’t break. Our best attribute this year should be to possess the ball and put them in good positions to make stops.
“We want to make long drives, take a lot of time off the clock, and make sure they’re fresh when they come back on the field.”
