Fogarty early favorite as Flyers QB
Sophomore in good spot, but knows he will have to earn the starting nod.
DAYTON — Dayton Flyers sophomore quarterback Timmy Fogarty has the inside track on the starting position, but won’t be handed the job.
“What we’ve told him is that he’s still going to be in competition,” coach Rick Chamberlin said. “That’s the way it’s done at Dayton. Timmy knows that. He’s a competitor. He’s going to go ahead and attack it with the same type of mentality that he’s always done.”
The Flyers begin fall practice at 2:30 p.m. today, Aug. 15, at Welcome Stadium with Fogarty and true freshman Zachary Splain listed 1-2 on the depth chart at quarterback.
