Yeah, what we wouldn't give to have the cowboys history over the past 14 years or so. 1996 was the last year with a playoff win, correct?? Definitely green with envy for that!!!! xlolx

Championships do matter, and neither the Eagles nor Cowboys have won any in a long time. 49 years for the Eagles and 14 (I think) for the Cowgirls.

Well, if I was old, sure, that makes sense. But 14 years is 38% of my lifetime, so it's starting to be a little bit of a big deal.
But if I was old, I could cling to the fact that the Eagles have 3 championships to the cowboys' 5 titles. Of course, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately world, and there's no way anyone would trade the disaster the cowboys have been for the past 14 years compared to the Eagles. Although after last year's finale, I'd probably be pining for the days of yore as well. xlolx

Same here. It all goes back to Drew Pearson shooting six guns in the end zone at the Vet. Tom Landry running up the score on the Eagles scabs in '87. Jimmy Johnson's whine. Michael Irvin high-stepping, pointing at our players and showboating.
I have to give the Giants and Skins credit for having some decorum and class over the years. Not so the Cowgirls.

The Eagles fans really have no room to talk...we are all second rate to the Giants right now...and that really...really...really sucks.
But that will change this year when Dallas overcomes all the nay sayers and wins in the playoffs!

Huh? Didn't the Eagles just beat the Giants twice in a row last year, both at the Meadowlands, and the last being the one that knocked the Giants out of the playoffs (I understand most cowboy fans probably don't even watch the playoffs anymore, so maybe you did miss it)? Since Plaxico had his little run-in with his gun, the Giants are an entirely different team. Most people are calling the NFC East a toss-up again between the Eagles and Giants. The cowboys may very well be second rate (and until they win a playoff game again they will be) but the Eagles are a tad better than that. xthumbsupx

Ill hit both topics:
Panthers vs. NFC EAST in the playoffs:
2006 - NFC Wild Card - Carolina 23, NY Giants 0
2004 - NFC Championship - Carolina 14, Philadelphia 3
2004 - NFC Wild Card - Carolina 29, Dallas 10
1997 - NFC Divisional - Carolina 26, Dallas 17

Until the Eagles can win a Super Bowl they will always be second rate...doesn't matter how long ago it was! Maybe Vick will finally be the guy to do it? We can tell McNabb has had plenty of opportunities and the result is always the same...If only he had been in better shape in that Super Bowl, as T.O. had pointed out then maybe that could have broken the trend...
Unit the win one though...they are below the Giants and Cowboys...

You can put it anyway you want, but on the first Sunday in Feb. both teams are usually sitting at home. Winning in the playoffs doesn't mean much unless your team is hoisting the trophy.

That's nonsense - the whole argument was over whether the Eagles are just second rate compared to the Giants. Sure, the Giants hoisted a trophy two years ago. Other than that, for the past decade and a half, they haven't lifted anything more than the Eagles. But all of that means a hill of beans when it comes to comparing teams today - NFL rosters change over so much in 2-3 years almost 75% or more of the teams are different personnel-wise, so while it's great to live in the past, it's just that, the past. To say that the Eagles aren't any different than the Cowboys, and a big step down from the Giants, this year, because in the last 10 years the Eagles haven't won a Super Bowl is just patently absurd. Sure Super Bowls matter, but not that much. xreadx
