Official Game Thread: New Hampshire at Ball State

Wanted to get something from Sports Illustrated posted so I thought it was a good time to get the official game thread going.

I am looking at the SI College Football Preview right now and they predict every FBS teams record. For Ball State they have them going 7-5 and 5-3 in conference.

So I looked at their OOC schedule to see who SI would be suggesting will beat them lets look...

at Auburn: SI has Auburn going 6-6 and 2-6 in confernce so Auburn is one of Ball States OOC losses as they are picked to go 4-0 OOC.

North Texas: SI has North Texas going 2-10 and 2-6 in conference so the 0-4 OOC record means this is a win for Ball State.

at Army: SI picks Army to go 3-9. My guess is SI has Army down for a win against VMI and with North Texas at 0-4 OOC there their second win. That leaves 1 win to go and that likely comes from the following teams; vs Tulane 2-2 OOC, at Air Force 2-2 OOC or vs Ball State 2-2 OOC. My hunch here is they pick Ball State to beat Army.

Which means Ball State is 2-1 in these games according to SI and that means...

vs New Hampshire: xthumbsupxxthumbsupxxthumbsupxxthumbsupxxthumbsupx xthumbsupx

One last thing is a look at their final rankings using Ball State and the 3 OOC opponents.

65. Auburn
75. Ball State
102. Army
119. North Texas

I think that clearly shows that SI is picking Ball State to beat Army and North Texas. And to lose to Auburn and New Hampshire.

Ball State is going to be a shadow of what they were last season, and you could see the wheels starting to fall off the last two games. If NH has anything similar to the squad from last year, this could be another Wildcat victory.

I saw that in SI too and I knew Ball State was playing North Texas and Army. My first reaction was that the SI writer didn't look at who Ball State played OOC, just made a blind prediction. If there was any logic provided, you know SI was picking them to lose to Auburn and either North Texas or Army. These guys don't say much about formations or offensive set-up, but it seems the running plays are going vertical vs horizontal.....I like it. Could this be the best UNH defense we've seen in 10 years?
