Wow what a story. Pitino closes a restaurant down drinking his face off, the owner closes the place and leaves Pitino the keys so he can bang some chick. And he bangs her on some table while his executive asst is there waiting for him to give him a ride home. Then years later she ends up marrying Pitino's assistant (currently going thru a divorce) and they both try to extort money from him. xlolx
I would imagine Pitino has lost a lot of respect from his peers at Louisville. And will be the brunt of many jokes by his players. Not to mention what his wife and kids are thinking about the situation. Busted. xoopsx

OMG! I remember back in the spring reading about the extortion attempt and then forgetting all about it - and now THIS!!! YOWZA!!!!!! You better believe if he was 6-31, they would have been firing his ass under the moral clause!!

Don't forget giving the slut $3k for an abortion, which can't be playing too well in Louisville.
The guy is a piece of sh-t of the first order, cheating on his wife and five kids then paying the chick for an abortion. He and the "mistress" deserve each other because they are both lower than whale sh-t.

Oh, just wait, there will be Pitino defenders coming out before you know it. If something like this doesn't deserve at least consideration under a "morals clause" then I don't know why there is such a thing.

I don't see any problem with what he was doing.. All he did was reduce his carbon footprint! (http://novafacts.blogspot.com/2009/08/rick-pitino-i-applaud-you-for-your.html)

It would take some strong will power to turn a beotch down whose offering it up on a silver platter. She's not bad at all. Considering this is a recent pic and it happened 6 years ago.

Those outside of Louisville probably aren't as aware, but it's been pretty commonly assumed that Pitino doesn't even live with his wife most of the time for years. Common thought is that they've only stayed married for public image purposes. Now I can't verify and of that, and I always tended to believe it wasn't true...but the jokes and aside comments have been floating around Louisville for basically his entire tenure at U of L.
To reiterate, I have zero facts to back it up, but most in Louisville were not blown away entirely by the fact that Pitino was involved outside of his marriage. However, it's also perfectly plausible this could have been a one time deal.
In an odd way, it's almost a bigger story nationally than it is here. Probably the most shocking part locally is the abortion aspect of it because (marital issues aside) Coach Pitino is a visably devout Catholic. There is a Priest sitting on the U of L bench every game, he's been known to coach with ashes on his forehead, and supposedly attends mass several times a week.
Ultimately though his image will take a big hit here. It's partially deserved, but Coach has been a valued member of the Louisville community from the moment he got here and has done many positive things. Winning basketball games is only the tip of the iceberg. People will focus on him because he's the celebrity, but the bottom line is that Karen Cypher is the one who committed a federal felony here. He messed up, but she tried take advantage of the situation. A matter that should have been a private family situation was blown up in the media because she wanted money the easy way. The whole situation is a shame on so many different levels.
I'm still a Louisville fan and a Rick Pitino fan. This will be a tough time for a lot of people, but here's hoping for the best.

I don't condone what Cypher has done but if Pitino had kept it in his pants she would not even be in the picture. It bothers me when I hear people say, as Golic keeps saying on M&M, that Pitino didn't break any laws so it shouldn't affect him. So does that mean that we can do anything we want to if it's not against the law and expect no fallout? If that were the case there would, as I mentioned earlier, be no need for a morals clause in a contract. I don't expect Pitino to get anything worse than a slap on the wrist by Louisville.

I saw the picture. It would take several G&Ts, a case of Natty Light, and five shots of Jager for any sensible guy to even dream of hitting that.xsmhx

If his contract call for him to be fired then so be it.
But.
People are forgetting just who is the crimminal here.
might not like what Patino did but it was not illegal.
What she did is illegal and that court case is comming up for her.
No teary eyed interviews on ESPN is going to change that.

NoGo on the red, GO on the green.
If Pitino was a single man I wouldn't blame him one bit. She looks like the type of woman who will gladly bend over the table and enjoy getting her @$$ slapped and her hair pulled. I'm sure Pitino was happy to comply.
Personally I've never liked the guy. I hated him when he coached PC and I think he did a horrible job when he coached the Celtics. The way he left the Celtics was one of the most low-class moves I've sever witnessed in sports history. I also remember after Harrick left URI basketball that Pitino was approached by URI for the job. His list of demands was at best a joke. He even wanted his marinara sauce sold at the games. FUKE HIM! Between that request along with a million others plus his salary demand, URI quickly walked away from him.
As for this incident…he obviously only thought of himself and didn't give a damn about those closest to him. But then again, that is the Rick Pitino way.

People tend to make requests like that marinara sauce thing when they don't actually want the job. I'm fairly certain his sauce is not sold at U of L games. If Pitino was ever to return to that state it would have been to PC (where his daughter is a student), not URI.
