The CSN Way: Got To Be Starting Something

The Super Bowl came and went. The NCAA men’s basketball tournament was nice, but it was just there to pass the time. The NFL Draft was here - and then it was gone. Major League baseball started, and found a bunch more athletes taking performance-enhancing drugs while the league continued to roll forward. But there was something missing: championship Division I football.
This week, schools from San Diego to Orono, Portland to Jacksonville, San Marcos to Fargo are starting fall camp. The piercing shrill of coaching whistles and raspy yells, the wet-behind-the-ears freshmen reporting for the first time to the grizzled seniors returning one final time - all these signal that FCS Fall camps are opening.
In other words, the next conference and NCAA champions will be forged starting this week. And I, like so many other fans, couldn’t be more excited.
