I hate to start another ASU/Furman thread, but today's The State in South Carolina features some good press for Richie Williams (and this weekend's matchup in general).

So why the heck can't the Charlotte Observer do something like that?

Good question...David Scott's October 19th piece, "Carolinas' Number 1," was a pretty good write-up in the Charlotte paper. That's got to count for something. Still, it would be good to see a big writeup about a single player like Richie.

If only they had shot that pic @ the WCU game.

Best of luck the rest of this season and I hope to see him continue to surprise in the NFL.

The four semi-finalists were also featured on the cover of the USA Today sports section today, too. It was just a graph of the average margins of victory forthe teams, though. Hopefully they'll have sumthin' good this mornin.

That's probably the biggest compliment 'The State' has ever received. Somebody out there is actually putting them on a level with the Sports Illustrateds and Madden 2K5s of the world.
If players got jinxed everytime a regional newspaper featured them on the cover, just about everybody would be jinxed. Of course, maybe all those jinxes cancel out.
