Wasted career. The man could have been a great receiver. He is looking at 2-3 years in prison. Unfortunately for him, New York has very tough gun laws.

Hopefully he is convicted and another tough guy drops out of the NFL . 3 years is a long time in the State System.

From what I have heard and read, if this goes to trial, he will get 3 years minimum. He already admitted in front of the grand jury that he broke the law I believe and the minimum sentence for the crime is 3 years.
His only way of getting less jail time is to negotiate for a lesser charge. The D.A. has all of the leverage in this case. (And then there is always the question of getting paroled)

He's 31, and after even a year out of football at his age would make it tough to come back. :(

Plaxico has already missed most of last year. Missing two more years at his age would almost surely mean the end of his career. This was an incredibly stupid thing to do. While I realize that he only hurt himself, he had the misfortune of doing it in NY which has a very tough gun law. Really a disaster for Plaxico.
