Towson's Jermon Bushrod has been the Saints LT Jamaal Browns back up for the last 3 years. As far as offensive lineman are concerned, the more time learning the game from the sideline can only spell sucess when his time comes to get in the game.

i'm pretty sure he's talking about rookies. if you want to count NON-rookies then we'll throw in Akeem Jordan, who starts at LB for the Eagles.

only JMU rookie in a camp that i know of is DE J.D. Skolnitsky (Redskins), who left school after his junior year to avoid a 1 year suspension by the NCAA (banned substance). side note: he tested positive after the Villanova playoff game and was ineligible to play vs. Montana.

From last years squad, the Griz have safety Colt Anderson with the Vikings and Guard J.D. Quinn with the Dolphins, Colin Dow was with the Bengals but rumor has it he didn't pass his physical and has since been cut. Also in the league are Lex Hilliard and Dan Carpenter with the Dolphins, Cory Proctor with the Cowboys, and Kroy Bierman with the Falcons. Cody Balogh was with the Bears last year but I'm not sure if he is still on the roster this season. We also have a few former Griz in the CFL, and Justin Greene might still be floating around.

JD Quinn was cut by the Dolphins over the last day or so.

Thats too bad to hear, however it sounds like Bierman and Anderson have been doing well.

Here is an article about Bierman, and they actually talk about Lawrence Sidbury too:

Here is a smaller bit about Colt:

Andre Coleman is in his 2nd season with the Chargers.
Rashad Barksdale is now with the Jets.

SDSU WR JaRon Harris is a FA at Packers camp. A beat reporter had this to say yesterday.

"Brohm and Jaron harris hook up on pass of the day. Brohm threads needle. Harris makes smooth sliding catch"

JaRon might have a shot for the practice squad but most likely won't make the team unless the Pack really value his return skills.

Assuming the original poster meant rookies in camp Delaware has one this year. TE Robbie Agnone is a free agent with the Redskins and is a long shot to make the team but according to some Redskin Blog he has been impressive enough to be a possible practice squad player.

Isn't Ron Talley from UD in the Packers camp?

Joe Mays is getting reps with the first team after an injury.
Here's more from someone on Bisonville
Ramon Humber (Colts)....Everyone says he will make the team because they run the Tampa 2 and he only needs to learn the new calls. He has been playing with the twos and even picked Manning one day.

Kole Heckendorf (Packers)....Said he was very confident going into camp when he got home from rookie camp he said he expects to make the practice squad.

Schomer (Titans)....haven't heard much on him at all.

Roehl....Obviously rehabbing in Seattle.

Richmond has DE Lawrence Sidbury in Falcons camp. Signed a four year deal with the team on July 16. Looks like they will use him in speed pass rush situations for now and see how he develops.

Wofford WR Andy Strickland is still listed on their active roster on their website. No news.

We also have Josh Vaughan in Bucs camp. Haven't heard much on how he's doing or chances to make the team.

Vaughan just got cut by the Bucs when they signed someone else just this past week.

Villanova Players in NFL Camps

Brian Westbrook, RB Philadelphia Eagles- Hasn't been practicing much because he recently had surgery in the offseason. He's a pretty sure bet to miss a couple of games during the season, but don't count him out.

Brian Finneran, WR Atlanta Falcons- Came back last year and contributed after missing two full seasons with knee injuries. With injuries to Falcons wideouts this offseason, Finn could make an impact for the first time since 2005.

Ray Ventrone, WR-S New England Patriots- Made the Patriots as a special teamer out of training camp last season and by all accounts played great. One of Bill Belichick's personal favorites in the same light as Larry Izzo or Matt Chatham.

Darrel Young, LB Washington Redskins- Long Shot to Make the Skins 53 man roster but has a chance to crack the practice squad due to his versatility.

Matt Sherry, TE Cincinnati Bengals- Cut on June 20th but resigned last week due to injuries to the Bengals Tight Ends. With another injury he could make the team and contribute.. if not he'll have to settle for the Practice squad or get released again.

Vaughan got picked up by the Jags shortly after being cut by the Bucs. Maybe the Dolphins will be next.

Looks like Ramses might actually get some playing time this year.

Here is another one:
Barden, the Giants' third-round pick from Cal Poly, appears significantly ahead of first-round pick Nicks of North Carolina. Barden, who is 6-foot-6, has impressed Manning.

Lardarius Webb is a third round pick this year of the Ravens and is impressing.

Kareem Moore was a 6th round pick last year and led the team in tackles against the Ravens.

Jacob Bender was a 6th round pick in 2006 for the Jets and is currently in camp with the 49ers.

Alex Romero was one of our kickers. He spent last season with the New Orleans Voodoo and is currently in camp with the 49ers. He nailed a 38 yard field goal the other night but missed a PAT. All the reports I've read is he's just being viewed as a "camp leg" only. Hopefully that'll improve.

Here's hoping to health, wealth, and happiness to all of our people!

Aveion Cason is having a good camp with the Lions. His days as a tail back are behind him, but he should make the team as a kick returner/special teams guy.

Laurent Robinson is the #2 WR in St. Louis. Having a good camp, had a 50+ yd catch in first pre-season game. Coaching staff very high on him.

Boomer Grigsby is in camp with Miami trying to make the team as a FB. Being a converted MLB, this will be tough. Compounding things, suffered a high ankle sprain and will have to sit out for 6 weeks. Best hope is they saw enough early on to keep him on as a practice squad player.

Tommy Nelson in Brown's camp. Been splitting time between punt returner and safety. Got hurt and has not been participating in workouts, not sure how severe, but not good for his hopes of making the team.

Jayson Foster making some noise over at the Ravens camp. Had a great 64 reception the other day that set them up for a TD on the next play. According to the practice notes he is also practicing for KR and QB (most likely wildcat)

Techstate,

I'm a big Giants fan and if it wasn't for the money and wasted first round pick Nicks would be way behind Barden. He's the talk of the town and who many of us believe is the answer to losing Burress. Thanks dude.

Quinten Lawrence of McNeese had four touches yesterday for Kansas City. One was a 16 yard reverse down to the 10 yard line. He also had 3 catches; which tied him for the lead in receptions for the game with one other Chief and one Viking. His three receptions were only for 19 yards but, still, it looks like he saw a pretty good bit of action. Reportedly, he played with the first team offense some (according to a McNeese fan who posted on it at Geauxcowboys). Hopefully that means something. I looked at the play by play and his first touch (the reverse) was early in the second quarter but all of the receptions were in the 4th.

Former Lions WR, Felton Huggins, has 6 receptions for 53 yards in two pre-season games with the Buffalo Bills...long-shot to make the final roster, but good to see him still hanging in there...not bad for a former walk-on.

Grigsby Cut by Dolphins. Hope someone in Canada wants either an undersized MLB or a slow FB with bad hands.

Rams Staff continues to sing praises of LRob.

Tommy Nelson had HUGE game for the Bungles(I incorrectly said Browns before). I think he had 5 tackles, 3 were either solo or TFL. He's going to make it very hard for them to cut him if this continues.

Been watching "Hard Knocks" on HBO. He has the edge on Lynch right now the way the coaches are talking. That could change of course. Good luck to him!
