Boston would send Michael Bowden, Josh Reddick and another prospect to Cleveland.
This would be huge if Boston can land a top caliber starter while keeping Buchholz.

No V-Mart??
No, they want Buchholz in any deal for Martinez and Boston would rather get Adrian Gonzalez if there going to have to give up Buchholz.

they seem willing to pay the bigger price because he's younger, costs less and under control longer.
Someone suggested that a Gonzalez/Peavy trade could be the blockbuster Boston was reportedly working on yesterday.

Only problem with that is Peavy made it perfectly clear he doesnt want to go to the AL...Im sure the AL East too with all the big stix there...All of these NL pitchers are worried their numbers will go up when they face superior hitting

But he also said he would agree to be traded to NYY or Boston.
Also now Rob Bradford on his own twitter account is shooting down the report. The original report came via WEEI's twitter and attributed to Bradford. Bradford said he hasn't reported anything and that someone hacked his account (Not true though, the report came via the WEEI account).

what is the pulse of Boston, nervous or pretty confident they can hold onto at least a WC

Tough to say, its Boston after all, some are ready top jump off the Tobin after a 2 game losing streak.
But people need to realize, New York had a real easy stretch and Boston's offense went into hibernation, neither the easy stretch or the Sox hitting woes will continue for the rest of the season so people shouldn't expect the flawed Yankees to remain in 1st place.
The Yankees are 0-8 against Boston this season, and while those games already played wont have a direct effect on the remaining 10 or 11, which ever it is, the 0-8 number will be in the Yankees heads until they do beat Boston, which wont help them any.
Boston can win the AL East and are still favorites to reach the World Series as they are right now... Any moves they make will only make the outcome that much clearer.

I'm confused. As of last night, I was under the impression that the Philles/Cleveland already had a working agreement. Now Boston is in the mix?

this ended up being MLBTradeRumors.com posting info from a fake WEEI twitter account.
I posted this late yesterday

As for Boston being in the mix, they were in on Lee and/or Martinez well before Philadelphia was.

Trade may be imminent
The Phillies might be close to acquiring a pitcher.
Carlos Carrasco has been scratched from his scheduled 11am start for Lehigh Valley against Columbus. Lou Marson and Jason Donald are also out of the lineup. Cleveland has been known to have interest in Marson and Donald.
A baseball source with knowledge of the situation said this morning "I think they'll get one of them," about Toronto starter Roy Halladay or Cleveland's Cliff Lee. "They were on Lee before this Halladay thing came up."

Negative. The info I got was from a Philadelphia reporter who told me that the deal was done as the Cleveland scouts had given their approval...which would lead to ownership approval. So the Phillies deal was virtually a done deal before this WEEI/Boston rumor was conjured up.
