UNI is 3-1, predicted to win their conference and playing #13 Iowa in the dome tonight.

Who else has a team with some big expectations. UNI was rated #17 preseason by SI.

Basketball can do a lot of I-aa schools because of all the national attention they bring.

SHSU...5-1, best start since we've been in Div I. Wins over New Mexico St and Missouri and Alcorn St. Sole loss was to Drexel on NATIONAL TV in Preseason NIT Quarterfinal...

We have Southern Miss tommorrow, Houston on Saturday and a week or so later, Arizona...

#20 in the Mid-Major Poll. Of course, you folks are #4...

The Southland Conference has three teams that have made some noise so far this season.

Sam Houston State started it off by beating Missouri in the season-opener and Southeastern Louisiana  put a :asswhip: on Mississippi State in Starkville for our first win over an SEC school since the mid-60's

The team in the SLC right now is Northwestern State, which has already beaten Mississippi State and knocked off Oklahoma State in Stillwater (just the second non-conference loss at home for Eddie Sutton in 107 games) :eyebrow:

NM St win looks better with that NM St win over New Mexico...

Really hoping for a nice crowd for USM. Would love to add a C-USA school to list, good or not...

currently 2-4,

Although we are officially the youngest team in DI hoops

"With nine total freshmen on the North Dakota State roster this year, the Bison are the youngest roster in Division I men's basketball according to research released Tuesday by the sports information office at Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The average age of the Bison is 1.6, based on the points scale issuing 1 point to a freshman, 2 to a sophomore, 3 to a junior, and 4 to a senior.

Central Michigan and Vermont tied for second, and Wisconsin-Green Bay was fourth.

Rank Team No. of Players Avg. Eligibility
1. North Dakota State 15 1.6
2. Central Michigan 14 1.64
Vermont 14 1.64
4. Wisconsin-Green Bay 12 1.667
5. Savannah State 13 1.692 "

NDSU starts 3 freshmen and 2 Juco transfers, combined they have had one previous year in a Bison uniform, two of the top three off the bench are also freshmen.. with the other being a soph, watch out in a couple of year s

The Griz are currently 4-1. They had a huge win over Stanford on Friday (although the Cardinal has looked awful). I would say anything less than another trip back to the Big Dance would be disappointing for this group.

After a 6-22 campaign in 2004-2005, Dean Keener looks to be the right coach to lead the Dukes to at least around 0.500 this season and surprise a lot of teams. JMU is 2-2 right now with victories over VMI and Appalachian State and close losses to Georgetown (by 7) and Northeastern (by 3). Student support is also growing due to Dean Keener. IT IS TIME TO BRING BACK THE ELECTRIC ZOO!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :rotateh:

Delaware's womens team is young, but are playing very well at 5-1. They should contend for the CAA title again as they did last year and look to be even stronger in the sesons to follow.

I'm not sure if we even have a men's team.

I know Villanova plays I-AA football, but I have a hard time lumping them in with the rest of I-AA teams - they play basketball in a BCS conference, so they are a little different than the rest of us.

Little old Bucknell isn't doing too bad either with wins over Big East Syracuse and DePaul. They lost to Nova last night but it was a respectable showing after they calmed down. They dug themselves too big a hole.

That game will give the Bison plenty of good experience down the stretch though...

UNI and Bucknell as of lately have had quite the friendship after last year's NCAA "band fiasco." xlolx

And don't forget Georgetown. We are the only two schools to play I-AA football and then play in a BCS conference for other sports.

Man, Texas State gave good ole' Arkansas (SEC) all they could handle last night up in pig country, but couldn't quite pull it out.

I'd like a game against Nova. In '04 we barely lost to Ga Tech, and in '05 we barely lost to Wisconsin.

I'd take our odds against anyone. This is a good team and I would never count them out of the game.

Godd to see some I-aa schools putting the beating on some major conference teams.

SHSU just beat Southern Miss...

Yes, they stink, but this is the first time since 1998 where we've had a team from a decent BKB conference come to Huntsville. And decent means someone outside of Arkansas St, Alcorn St, A&M-CC or UTPA...

No one comes here, because we'll beat them.

I was routing for penn last night. i love watching penn and princeton play.

I believe the MVC is 3-1 against the Big 10, with the only loss being on a buzzer shot (Illinois over Witchita St.)

The young South Dakota State University men are 2-7 on the year. Wins over Northern Colorado and Denver and losses to Kentucky, Illinois, Univ. of Wisconsin/Milwakee, Marquette, Univ. Nebraska, SEMO and Cal-St. Fullerton. Record looks pretty bad but considering who we have played and our best player (Steve Holdren, put up 28 vs. Illinois) blew out his knee a few games back. The schedule gets much easier from here on out. Like our brothers from North Dakota, we are also a very young team.

The young South Dakota State women our fairing much better this year at 5-3. Key wins include Nebraska 68-49, Colorado St. 82-75, UC-Irvine 81-56, Wisconsin-Milwakee 70-55 and Wisconsin 68-65. Losses have been to Drake 52-54, Middle Tennessee St. 72-79 and Southern Illinios 59-75.

We are 3-2 now, after Wichita State lost to Michigan State by 19. And I don't think Drake is gonna beat Iowa, so we will be tied at 3-3. :(

Ohh, I know they are a good team. But after the way they played Iowa State at the Knapp Center, I just don't think it will happen. I hope they prove me wrong.
