No real surprise preseason picks there. Interesting that EWU received a 1st place vote in the Coaches Poll, my guess is it was probably Hauck since you can't vote for your own team and I doubt if he'd vote for WSU- never know though.

Big Sky: Coaches, Media Like Montana
OGDEN, Utah (July 21, 2009) - The Montana Grizzlies, whose 2008 season ended with a loss in the Division I Football Championship, have once again been selected by the media and coaches to capture the Big Sky Conference football championship.
The 2009 preseason polls were released by the conference on Tuesday, with Montana selected first in both polls, and 2008 co-conference champion Weber State picked second.

picking a team other than Montana to win the conference is what we call getting "too cute" with it.
going out on a limb just for the sake of going out on a limb. 11 (or however many it is) straight conference titles (or tying for conference titles by record) is more than a coincidence.

Cole Bergquist- qb
Mike Ferriter- wr
JD Quinn- C and OL
Colin Dow- OL
Russum- OL
Those were the significant losses.
