#44 James Ruffin, a SR defensive end starter from Burnsville, Minnesota. In his freshman season, Ruffin was named to the all-MVFC Newcomer team after playing in all 11 games, including 7 starts. He finished 2006 with 26 tackles, 3 TFL, and 1 sack. For the 2007 season, James started all 13 games and registered 52 tackles, 8 TFL, and 3.5 sacks. He was an all-MVFC First-team selection. Last year, Ruffin recorded 69 tackles, 18 TFL (led MVFC), 10 sacks (led MVFC), 3 FF, 1 FR, and 1 blocked kick. For the second straight season, he was named all-MVFC First-team and was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year in the Valley.

This is one of the best D-lineman I've seen in following the Panthers for over 25 yrs. Will likely receive a lot of attention from opponents this fall.
