Todd Zolecki at mlb.com reminds readers that a player who signed a long term deal prior to October 2006 who gets traded during the contract can demand to again be traded following that season. If the team failed to honor the demand, the player would become a free agent the following March.
Roy Halladay signed his current contract prior to the 2006 season so he can demand to be traded once this season is over if he is moved before the trade deadline
