Record-breaking year for Demon Victory Fund

NATCHITOCHES – In 2007-08, the Northwestern State Athletic Association and Demon Victory Fund members, under the direction of Director of Athletics Greg Burke and Executive Director Dr. William Broussard, helped NSU Athletics set several records for attainment, including Select 100 membership and total DVF funds raised, a record for most endowed scholarships established in a year, gifts-in-kind, corporate sponsorships, and licensing royalties.

Everyone around the SLC is looking at two programs.

TXST and NWST (and perhaps to a lesser extent, throw McNeese in there too)

While the Demon fan base does not like when I compliment them (and for the record, I have done so twice in the last 24 hours), it is hard not to acknowledge that both programs are picking up steam in a major way to increase the outside revenue generated by individuals, groups and corporate sponsors.

TXST is doing this as they prepare for an FBS launch while the Demons have an energized staff that while FBS is not goal - maintaining their spot of competitiveness against schools with deeper pockets, surely is. Keep the news coming. This stuff is always good to read...
