CHICAGO, IL (Aug. 5, 20009) - The Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer is set to battle Tigres UANL of the Mexican Primera Division (First Division) in the SuperLiga 2009 Final tonight at TOYOTA PARK. The winner will not only hoist the SuperLiga Trophy, but will also earn one of the biggest purses in the region.


Following the match, the SuperLiga 2009 Champion will hoist the trophy on field during a post game awards ceremony. Should the Fire win, MLS Commissioner Don Garber and President Mark Abbott will present the trophy. Should Tigres UANL win, General Secretary Decio de Maria and Director of International Affairs Fernando Cerrilla will present the trophy at the close of the match.

This tournament is just not the same with the better teams in both the American and Mexican leagues going to the CCL. It will be nice if the MLS wins, but it's not the best teams going at it...
