ESPN.com Mascot of the Year Challenge

Hey Guys,

Make sure to vote for Sam the Minuteman (University of Massachusetts.) He was the only Division I-AA mascot out of the original 12 and he's made it all the way to the final two. Last year, Grizzly from the University of Montana won so it would be awesome if a I-AA mascot won in back to back years. Please make sure to vote everyday. Thank you very much

Duke Dog won the online voting portion but did not win the overall as Monte placed higher in the judging portion thus giving Monte the overall title as national mascot. JMU students and alumni were outraged and sent the Capital One mascot challenge organizers a lot of hate e-mail. Maybe they decided to switch to only the online voting portion for deciding the winner?

I was suprised as anyone to see Monte win it last year, although if you have seen him at a game it shouldn't be a big surprise. Here's to another I-AA mascot winning this year.

I'd really like to see TC from UNI in there, not becasue I'm a UNI fan, but because he is a great mascot. Crowd interaction, great acting in his fights with other mascots, nice to little kids, and topping the pyramid in cheerleading routines. You have to check him out sometime.
