View Full Version : IGGLES versus Seahawks!

This could be a defining moment for the 'Iggles' and Andy Reid for 2005. If they can pull the upset, the remaining schedule is 'winnable'. How many think they can 'run the table' winning the remaing 5 to go 10-6 and likely wildcard in the playoffs? They seem like a resilient bunch at times, but this seems like too much of an uphill climb.

I am hoping that Alexander runs wild over the Eagles...

I'm a pessimist. I'm thinking 7-9 overall and a 10-point loss tonight in a blizzard at the Linc.

Ahh... the standard Philly Sports Fan defense mechanism! I'm "cautiously pessimistic" as always. If they win, fantastic! If they lose, well, I'm not surprised.
Since moving out west, I don't mind staying up and watching the whole Mon. night game, since it's over by 10:30. The most pissed I ever got was that Mon. night game in '97 that the Eagles blew when the PAT snap was muffed. I stayed up past midnight (was living in New England at the time) just to see that!

Philly fans + snow = bad combination. I hope Santa doesn't decide to make visit.

I think the Eagles are done. I would be shocked if they won tonight. Not a Seachickens fan but I have to give them credit. Alexander is probably the best back in the league.

They could win tonight, but they aint running the table. What do you mean by winnable? Any game is techincally winnable, but they play the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins who have all already beaten them this year. :(

When was the last time THAT happened????
The Fagles are done. No chance of making the playoffs. I'll blow myself if do.

Now COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you forgetting the Texans, 49ers and Cardinals?
Anyway, 35-0 Seahawks, and I LOVE IT! This is a good season for Eagles fans. This'll keep us from getting arrogant like Packers fans had become. We're gonna find out real quick who the damn glory riders have been! When I moved to AZ in '99, I would be one of maybe 3 Eagles fans at the bar watching them. What few fans I met were almost always from PA, NJ or Delware.
Last year, seemed like everyone had a midnight green jersey! Get off the bandwagon you jacka$$es!

I can't believe how fast the eagles have fallen this season. Just goes to show what injuries and 1 jackass can do to a good team.

Biggest blowout/shutout defeat in MNF history: perviously 41-0. 4:20 left for the Eagles to prevent a new record.

After the debacle tonight, the Iggles have been officially 'forked'. Earliest ending to a Philly season in about 7 or 8 years. This was remindful of the pitiful Eagle teams of the mid-60's...

Yeah, I love how all week on ESPN radio, all the different announcers were predicting a huge Eagles upset. I even heard someone predict a DOUBLE DIGIT Eagles win.
Instead...the Seahawks came to their house, and this emoticon sums it all up. :asswhip: ;)
I must say that the Eagles are my second least-favorite team in the NFL, behind the Patriots. But I was actually halfway rooting for the Eagles tonight (like I had to for the Super Bowl, because either way I lost there), because a Seahawks loss would have moved my Panthers into a three-way tie for first in the NFC.
GO PANTHERS!

Seahawks are going all the way - or at least until they meet Indianapolis. It's not quite as big as UC Davis beating Stanford but I'm still enjoying it.

I'm a skins fan....so what the Texans/49ers/Cardinals do doesn't really matter to me as much as an Eagles whoopin' does. They are all bad teams though, no doubt about that! xlolx
So does this officially eliminate the Fagles from playoff contention?? :D

But it's the Fagles...that's why I love it! Heads are going to roll soon up in Philly. Let someone else go to the NFC Championship umpty times in a row...but actually WIN the darn thing AND the Super Bowl!!!

No doubt about that, but I'm not talking about this year. If some other NFC East team gets to the Championship and then the Super Bowl a few times in a row, they WILL win it, unlike that team of Fagle chokers.
Bottom line....the Eagles are definitely in the lower echolon of teams in the NFL this year. Quite amazing, considering how high they were last year. I love it!!!!

Yeah, they showed they can completely shut down a fiesty QB last week. They'll be in the hunt long into the playoffs.
I'm liking Denver (except if they have to go through KC again) in the AFC to give Indy a run at it...Cincy also (did I really just write that?!?! ;) ) if they can somehow get their D to shut down the big plays....

Cincy and Indy are similar, if the D shows up, they win, cause they can score with anyone
I think the Panthers can control the ball and limit Indy/Cincy's offensive possessions

So are you picking Indy/Carolina in the SB? I've got Denver/Seattle, with Denver beating Indy and Seattle beating Carolina in the championship games.
Man...already talking NFL playoffs with 4 weeks left. Just like I-AA, huh??? :rotateh: There's SOOOOO much more NFL football to be played though...

yeah, I think Indy/Carolina
the Carolina pick is a homer pick, if not them, then Seattle

Except that I'm glad I went to bed last night at 8:45 pm.
I knew they would get hammered.
Oh, I also got a Carolina/Indy Super Bowl.

The Eagles' QB situation is so desperate that Andy Reid is considering re-hiring his old homey. Disgusting lack of effort last night. Glad I didn't watch it. I listened to about 10 minutes of it on the car radio and Merrill Reese sounded despondent. Doing my best Harry Doyle imitation: " What did we get? No points? Not one GD point?"

Not at all. They are a shell of the team that went to the Super Bowl last year. They're missing 80% of the starting line up and 50% of the defense from last year.

I'm not going to the Christmas Eve pillow-fight because I'll be in Vegas. At first I was upset the NFL scheduled the Eagles-Cards on the only weekend during the season that I'll be out-of-state, but now I'm happy I didn't buy tickets. It's not like I'd be able to scalp them!
