Demon student-athletes ramp up community service
NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State student-athletes contributed over 2,200 documented hours of community service projects in the 2008-09 school year, primarily coordinated by the NSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, an increase of nearly 20 percent over last year’s contributions.
Outreach activities included dozens of events, said NSU senior woman administrator Jodie Heinicka, who oversees the NSU SAAC and its community service work.
