Two TSU Coaches Earn Internships with the Houston Texans

Texas Southern defensive tackle coach Tremaine Jackson and linebacker coach Archie McDaniel will spend part of their summer working with the Houston Texans.

The program was adopted by the NFL and since then, it has brought more than 1,300 minority coaches into NFL training camps.

Here's a Chronicle story on the PV coaches...

While the majority of college football coaches across the nation are preparing for the start of their preseason practices, three members of the Prairie View A&M coaching staff will participate in the Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaches Internship Program.

The purpose of the program is to expose talented minority college coaches to the methods and philosophies of NFL training camps.

The program has brought more than 1,300 minority coaches into NFL camps and produced four head coaches in the league.

The coaches from Prairie View (and the teams they'll visit) are defensive coordinator Heishma Northern (Oakland Raiders), running backs coach Dwayne Foster (Buffalo Bills) and defensive line coach Miles Brandon (Pittsburgh Steelers).
