Sending a 4 loss team to the BCS is nice poetic justice for Swofford. Busting up the Big East and basically screwing over two conferences leaves a nice a karmic debt. I feel sorry for some of the "old ACC" teams that still have some sense of decency.

You should feel sorry for Penn St. A team that is 2 seconds away from being undefeated. They are now going to have to play a bad Florida St. team just because the Criminals managed to wake up for 1 night. Penn St & Joe Pa deserve better. Hell a matchup with Georgia would be a great game, anything but the geriatric bowl.

Penn State definitely got screwed by Big 10 officiating. I like PSU a great deal, but I don't think they have the horses to stay with USC or Texas.

And we'll never know, will we? That is what sucks about the BCS. If there were some form of playoff in I-A, then perhaps PSU could perhaps earn their way to the title game and perhaps they could win it all. BCS sucks donkey balls.

I don't mind the auto-bid. Without it, we'd be all but guarenteed the same teams from a pool of about 10 would be in the major bowls. #1 & #2 will be paired for the so-called "National Championship," but the remaining bowl games will take the team that gets them the most ticket sales and TV ratings. Thus, an 11-0 WVU would get screwed. While the Mountaineer fans will buy every ticket they can get their hands on, they simply don't have a national TV presence like a 9-2 Alabama or Oklahoma. That being said, their needs to be some "minimum" criteria for the auto-bid. If the conference winner doesn't win at least 9 games or so, then that bid becomes an "at-large."

It's the conference championship games that screw up the auto-bid process. Can you imagine if CU had won too? Two 8-4, previously unranked teams in the BCS? That's F'ed up. Reminds me of the Cotton Bowl in the 80's when the Southwest Conf. champ would be 7-4 or 8-3 overall and simply get a$$-hammered on New Year's Day.
