Rumor has it that there will be 2 Winter Classic Games to be played on January 1st 2010...

Game 1 @ Fenway: Capitals @ Bruins
Game 2 @ McMahon Stadium (Calgary AB): Unknown Canadian team @ Flames

EJ Hradek now reporting it will be the Flyers vs Bruins @ Fenway!!!

I wish Fenway wasn't such a dump...I will be forced to watch the game with my head at a constant tilt...oh well, some national exposure for my B's!!!

It appears that doubleheader was a no-go. Oh well, I think the 1 game is better. No need to oversaturate the product too much

Also very surprised that NBC was so opposed to Ovechkin in the game. The NHL wanted Bs-Caps, NBC asked for Bs-Flyers. Apparently Philly gets better ratings than Ovie. Keeps the option open for Pens-Caps sometime in the future (Pittsburgh? State College?)

Hoping for Isles-Rangers at Yankee Stadium (or Giants Stadium) in the next few years xnodx

Yes, I heard the Flyers/Bruins may well be playing in Fenway this winter.

I guess the Flyers playing in Fenway effectively kills having a game in State College unless they're going to let the Flyers participate in a second one of these games.

Not too owrried, I occasionally flip to the hockey game but on New Year's I'm watching bowl games.
