High School -- Swaney caught 45 passes for 811 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior under head coach Jim Burton at Troy High School. He also kicked a 42-yard field goal and was 24-for-24 on PAT kicks. The Warriors were 7-2 and won the Freeway League title with a 4-0 mark before forfeiting six wins prior to the CIF-Southern Section Southeast Division playoffs. Swaney earned first-team All-Freeway League honors, was the league’s offensive player of the year and was his team’s offensive MVP. As a junior, Swaney led Troy to a 12-1 record and the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section Southeast Division playoffs, earning Freeway League offensive MVP honors. His career totals at Troy are 113 catches for 2,404 yards and 25 touchdowns. Swaney also competes in track and field, winning the league title in the 300 low hurdles and qualifying for the CIF-Southern Section finals in the 4-by-400 relay. He is a three-year varsity letterman in football, track and soccer and has earned school scholar-athlete honors.
