High School -- Swaney caught 45 passes for 811 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior under head coach Jim Burton at Troy High School. He also kicked a 42-yard field goal and was 24-for-24 on PAT kicks. The Warriors were 7-2 and won the Freeway League title with a 4-0 mark before forfeiting six wins prior to the CIF-Southern Section Southeast Division playoffs. Swaney earned first-team All-Freeway League honors, was the league’s offensive player of the year and was his team’s offensive MVP. As a junior, Swaney led Troy to a 12-1 record and the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section Southeast Division playoffs, earning Freeway League offensive MVP honors. His career totals at Troy are 113 catches for 2,404 yards and 25 touchdowns.
