No surprise there.

"I know longer feel I can offer the level of enthusiasm to my duties that is deserved by the university, my coaching staff, my players, their families, and the supporters of Southern Cal," Floyd wrote. "I always promised myself and my family that if I ever felt I could no longer give my full enthusiasm to a job, that I should leave it to others who could."

Translation...I can't cheat anymore.

First victim of One and DONE.

I blame this guy cause that rule is gonna bite more colleges in the arse than a mad pit bull at a nudist colony.
Every kid is not going to be as outspoken as Mayo and just blurt out "I'm just going to college to get my 1 year over with".
99% of the kids that fit this mold are going to keep their mouth shut, accept the schollie, accept everything that come their way, and leave on the 1st thing smoking at the end of the season leaving burning fires for colleges to put out.

Yeah, I strongly suspect USC has been playing fast & loose for several years in more areas than just basketball. Floyd quitting won't help them when it comes times for the NCAA to hand out any punishments.

Anyone think it's possible for USC to get the SMU treatment?

Nope.
Just a couple years of "wrist slap" probation and a schollie reduction.
If Reggie Bush didn't cause the SMU treatment for all the shat he took, then nothing will. xlolx
Reggie took a whole damm house for his family while at USC just for starters. xlolx

Yeah, but the Reggie Bush saga isn't over -- he basically has had to pay people off to keep them quiet so far. NCAA isn't the gov't so they can't force people to talk so he can tamper as long as he can afford they payments.

I strongly suspect there are some NCAA officials who would like nothing more than to take USC down.

I don't see anybody getting the SMU treatment again.

Floyd bailed before the NCAA comes down like a ton of bricks on USC. Can Pete Carroll's resignation be far behind?
