I go to grad school in Richmond with a handull of UR grads and a handfull of Furman grads, all good friends.

I've never understood fans who root for entire conferences in the postseason. If UNC loses in a tourney, why would a Carolina fan want to root for "those @#$@ Blue Devils?" If the Red Sox get eliminated from the playoffs, how many people in New England become Yankee fans in support of the AL East?

I guess college football must be different (and I am open to counter-points). I am grateful to you GASO and Furman folks who wanted to see App beat SIU. It would be hard to consider you guys our rivals if I started cheering for you in the playoffs.

I'll take Furman OR Richmond next week. Sure, Richmond doesn't know about the demons that tend to haunt Furman at KBS. Still, Furman's track record in the playoffs makes me nervous about having to face them at this stage.

Richmond is a quality team and certainly on a roll. . .but flashback. . .

You guys are very much so rivals. I can't stand losing to either of you. But there is also a inter-conference rivalry that formed on this board (especially between the A10 and Socon) and I can't stand seeing Socon teams losing to A10 teams either. so I want to see Socon teams win in the playoffs.
