6/10/95:
Journeyman Jeff Manto of the Baltimore Orioles becomes the 24th player in major league history to hit four homers in four consecutive official at bats when he connects off Mike Bielecki in the second inning of tonight’s 6-2 victory over the California Angels. Manto connected in his last at bat two nights ago and cracked two more dingers last night while also drawing two walks (not official at bats). After becoming only the second player to stretch a four-homer streak over three games (Johnny Blanchard, 1961), Manto will draw another walk and then fly out to center field, ending his magical run. He’ll finish this season with 17 homers but end his career with only 31.
