Former Lion Lucas Signs With CFL's Toronto Argonauts
HAMMOND – Former Southeastern Louisiana running back Jay Lucas signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League earlier this week and is currently participating in training camp with the team.
Lucas, a Baton Rouge native that prepped at Redemptorist HS, completed one of the most prolific careers by a Lion last fall. After transferring from Texas A&M prior to the 2006 season, Lucas immediately established himself as the team’s primary offensive weapon and one of the Southland Conference’s premier ball carriers.
