High School -- Mohamed, younger brother of Cal Poly sophomore-to-be linebacker Marty Mohamed, earned first-team All-Imperial Valley League honors on both offense and defense as a senior under head coach John Bishop at Brawley High School. Mohamed, also first-team all-league on defense as a junior, rushed for 881 yards on 151 carries (5.8 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns as a senior team captain while notching 41 tackles (25 solo), including two sacks and five more for lost yardage, and a pair of fumble recoveries on defense, helping the Wildcats to an 8-4 overall record, 4-0 mark for the Imperial Valley League title and a quarterfinal-round berth in the CIF-San Diego Section playoffs. As a junior in 2006, Mohamed earned bigger numbers on defense, recording 51 tackles while rushing for 39 yards and three scores, earning first-team all-league honors on defense, as Brawley finished 8-3 overall. Twice he was team captain, twice has earned spots on the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team for football and track with his 4.57 GPA and has earned the National Football and Collegiate Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award. Mohamed has a personal best of 56.42 seconds for 400 meters.
