Not totally surprised on the release of Glavine, but getting McLouth from Pittsburgh is a big upgrade (and I'm not a Braves fan)

I'm no Glavine fan by any means, but it's pretty classless to have the guy go through rehab and then cut him because he was going to receive a $1 million roster bonus.
Agree on the McLouth trade, that seems like a steal.....you'd think at some point the Pirates would want to build around a stud young player.

I actually like Glavine a lot, but hope the Mets don't sign him again - he was out of gas at the end of 2007.

They had to be related. Hate to see Glavine go, but bet he's hurt again soon if someone signs him.

I guess Glavine still has a chance to retire now and go into the Hall with Maddux.

Everybody seems to be siding with Glavine, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander now as Glavine walked out on the Braves in the early part of this decade. He needs to join Maddux in the 2013 HOF class... perhaps Smoltz will get the clue and join them too.
There is a reason Glavine was cut, and his name is Tommy Hansen. Remember that name folks... mid 90's fastball, four + pitches, good control, big horse of a guy. A true ace in waiting and he's only 22 years old. He'll start Saturday for the Braves.
I'm not convinced the Braves are through dealing yet. They still have a glut of starting pitching and Tim Hudson has started throwing bullpens. He was up to 60 pitches Tuesday and is slated to come back in August.
I'd still like to see a move for another OF bat.

Lohse went down last night, hope the Cardinals are on the phone with Glavine's agent as I type this.
