Jacksonville State Files Appeal for APR Penalties
Jacksonville State has formally filed its appeal of an NCAA committee’s decision to uphold a 2009 postseason ban on the Gamecocks’ football program, a university official confirmed Tuesday.
JSU attorney Randy Woodrow told The Star the law firm working with the school on its appeal — Bond, Schoeneck and King of Overland Park, Kan. — filed the paperwork with the NCAA earlier in the day.
Woodrow declined to describe the substance of the appeal, citing a gag order placed on the university by the NCAA when it went before the Committee on Academic Performance on March 27.
