Syracuse wins its second NCAA lacrosse championship in three years and seventh overall by outlasting defending national champion Princeton, 13-12, at Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. Sophomore All-American Michael Powell has four goals and three assists for the Orange and is named the MOP of the tournament. The Syracuse win avenges an overtime loss to Princeton in the finals last year and draws SU even with Johns Hopkins (seven titles each) since the NCAA began determining a national lacrosse champion in 1971.
