I have compiled a list for everyone to vote on and put an other category. If you select other, please tell us who you picked. I will keep this open from now until the end of July so we can get plenty of votes for this. Then we can look at this again in March and April and see if our pick is still being talked about at that point.

Here are a few of my notes on these guys for those who have not seen them.

QB Armanti Edwards- Lacks the size for QB and thus likely to change positions or be used as an athlete in the wildcat formation. He is one of the most dynamic FCS players in the last 20 years.

WR Andre' Roberts- Roberts is very quick, shifty, can turn a short pass into a large gain, and has game breaking ability in the return. Unlike many other WRs he can be used at flanker or in the slot.

WR Pat Simonds- He has great size and hands and uses his body extremely well. His speed is the big question as he plays like a 4.65 type but ran in the high 4.5s for scouts.

OT Derek Hardman- Hardman, a four-year starter, is an athlete pass blocking left tackle that has great potential.

OT James Williams- He has good size, is very smart, and good feet. He is a very capable left tackle and can also play right tackle due to his ability against the run.

OT Vladimir Ducasse- His mean streak, run blocking ability, and toughness are among the things scouts most like. I really think he is a potential sleeper in this draft, if he stays healthy.

TE Clay Harbor- He needs to gain weight this year but is an adequate blocker and great pass catcher that is only being held back by his average size for a NFL TE.

DE Austen Lane- This is my favorite player in terms of upside because he has Michael Johnson size/speed measurables but has a better motor. He is very raw but a pass rush specialist and does need to improve against the run and become more consistent. This is one player to keep an eye on as Buchanan voters don't know the name but really should.

OG Matthew McCracken, Richmond- He is a tough, mean, physical player that is not flashy and doesn't show outstanding feet but gets the job done. He has great size but will have to show some athleticism after the season as scouts did not get to run him at the junior pro day.

ask later, at least when we are in the same year the next draft will be held.

As I stated in the post I am doing this just to see if our pick now is still being talked about in March and April. It will be interesting to see which players are listed now that won't even be talked about next spring.

If you don't want to participate then you don't have to read or vote in this. I am not holding a gun to your head. xsmiley_wix

I just did this for fun. If you have no fun talking about it or reading it that is fine. xthumbsupx

I also don't remember you saying this to people who were talking about the 2009 season once their playoff run was over back in December of 2008? :)

I picked Andre' Roberts of the Citadel, although workout freak O-linemen tend to rise fast (Mike Roos types), and Derek Hardman could be that type of guy, according to reports xthumbsupx

Yeah so Hardman or even a freakish DL like Lane could perhaps move upt he board?

Right now, I'd say Terrell Hudgins, good size & good speed for his position, and his numbers are impressive, we'll see as the season gets going.

I heard he ran 4.75 range. I thought he would have been faster. I know teams consider him a priority free agent at this point. Hopefully he gets that 40 down because with his size and hands he could be a solid one.

"gun" to my head? Is this an Appalachian thing? Everyone knows you are an App St homer. No need to hold a gun to my head. I think that you wanting to talk about draft picks another year from now is dandy if that is what you want. IMO it is waaaaaaay premature. So much can happen.

This is the FCS and Pros Section and there was really nothing else to talk about. You are very right that a lot can happen.

You know, you could just ignore this section until it is not too premature or just not read posts on the 2010 Draft until you feel it is time to start thinking about it? I don't want anyone reading this unless they want to. :)

Of the ones listed, I had to go with Andre Roberts though I'm very intrigued at how AE makes the move to WR

Any clue what Barden ran this year? Just for comparison

He ran 4.55 hand held at the combine and 4.51 hand held at the pro day.

Thanks for that. One thing I read on ESPN yesterday is that Barden has "virtually no separation speed". We'll see, as a Giants fan, I hope he catches a lot of passes this year.

That would make it seem like the other guys would have the same issue if they had slower 40 times.

Barden has better speed than acceleration. It takes him a little longer to hit full speed and thus he sometimes doesn't separate from defenders like NFL teams want you to.

Bit of a homer pick, but I think if Dominic Randolph puts up huge numbers this season, wins a game or 2 in the playoffs, has an impressive performance on national TV in the playoffs, and tears it up at a camp, he could be a mid-round pick.
