I have compiled a list for everyone to vote on and put an other category. If you select other, please tell us who you picked. I will keep this open from now until the end of July so we can get plenty of votes for this. Then we can look at this again in March and April and see if our pick is still being talked about at that point.
Here are a few of my notes on these guys for those who have not seen them.
QB Armanti Edwards- Lacks the size for QB and thus likely to change positions or be used as an athlete in the wildcat formation. He is one of the most dynamic FCS players in the last 20 years.
WR Andre' Roberts- Roberts is very quick, shifty, can turn a short pass into a large gain, and has game breaking ability in the return. Unlike many other WRs he can be used at flanker or in the slot.
WR Pat Simonds- He has great size and hands and uses his body extremely well. His speed is the big question as he plays like a 4.65 type but ran in the high 4.5s for scouts.
OT Derek Hardman- Hardman, a four-year starter, is an athlete pass blocking left tackle that has great potential.
OT James Williams- He has good size, is very smart, and good feet. He is a very capable left tackle and can also play right tackle due to his ability against the run.
OT Vladimir Ducasse- His mean streak, run blocking ability, and toughness are among the things scouts most like. I really think he is a potential sleeper in this draft, if he stays healthy.
TE Clay Harbor- He needs to gain weight this year but is an adequate blocker and great pass catcher that is only being held back by his average size for a NFL TE.
DE Austen Lane- This is my favorite player in terms of upside because he has Michael Johnson size/speed measurables but has a better motor. He is very raw but a pass rush specialist and does need to improve against the run and become more consistent. This is one player to keep an eye on as Buchanan voters don't know the name but really should.
OG Matthew McCracken, Richmond- He is a tough, mean, physical player that is not flashy and doesn't show outstanding feet but gets the job done. He has great size but will have to show some athleticism after the season as scouts did not get to run him at the junior pro day.
