There has been a few mentions of Carroll College on the site in the last few days, so I went to their web site and checked them out. I read this about their QB, Tyler Emmert, and was quite impressed, to say the least:

Emmert's Passing Percentage Improving

Tyler Emmert improved his career passing percentage ever so slightly, but that's no small task when you start the game - your 52nd - with a 70.5 percent completion percentage. He bumped it up to 70.6 percent with an 11-for-15 effort in Carroll's 24-0 win over Montana Tech in the second round of the NAIA playoffs.

Emmert is now 49-3 as the Fighting Saints starting quarterback and the win total is believed to be a national all-division record, however, no documentation has been produced to prove, or disprove, that assumption.

Emmert now has 102 touchdown passes and a NAIA-record 13,297 total yards. His 11 completions ran his career total to 988, which is just two short of the NAIA record held by Dustin Dewald (1989-91) of Iowa Wesleyan.

A little known fact, according to Carroll athletic director Bruce Parker, is Emmert set the single-season completion percentage in his sophomore season when he hit on 75.2 percent (315-for-419). The NAIA career record is 66.2 percent and no college quarterback has ever completed 70 percent with a minimum of 1,000 attempts.

If Carroll wins their next two games, Tyler will end his college career with four NC's, many records, and, as is in bold above, the only college QB to ever complete more than 70% of his passes (with over 1,000 attempts). It has not been proven, but they think no other QB can beat the 49-3 mark (51-3 if they win out). In other words, THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COLLEGE QB IN HISTORY.

Carroll College has won 3 straight Championships, but Tyler has QB'd only 2 of them. Tyler started the beginning of the year during the first championship run, but was injured late in the season. Rob Lattrel (sp.) played the last 1 or 2 regular season games, and all of the playoff games. Lattrel was the Championship game MVP that year.
