OK, so they don't use the term "elite 8" for softball, but it's still a big deal for a team that only played 5 home games thanks to the lovely weather up north. :)

Sorry, It's just the sweet 16 not the Elite 8. I didn't see any way to delete the whole thread. :(

How does your schedule work? There's "round robin" play in Summit League - but do they just avoid going to NDSU...?

We played "home" games in lovely locations such as Ames (vs. IUPUI after playing Iowa State) and Minneapolis (vs. Oakland), then got SDSU and Centenary in Fargo. Full schedule and results for 09 Bison Softball (http://www.gobison.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=2400&KEY=&SPID=707&SPSID=12130)

Actually they are in the Sweet 16. The top 8 make the College World Series. A seires win over Arizona State will mean an Elite 8 appearance.

The flood and a late winter did a number on our schedule. A few games had to be moved to neutral locations.
