Drake stays with FCS: School keeps sport, goes non-scholarship.

Drake University, like Missouri State, plays in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly NCAA Division I-AA) – but with a major difference.

Drake’s football program does not award athletic scholarships. While technically eligible for the FCS playoffs, non-scholarship programs have never received a postseason berth.

While this is not breaking news, the article was mostly part of a series about the state of the Missouri Valley Football Conference - had stuff on budgets, Missouri State, Wichita State and Drake...
