I thought Minnesota would get beat worse than they did. Vincent Grier's injury leaves a big gap in the Gophers lineup. Gardner-Webb even beat them without Grier.

I watched the MD/Minn game. MD came out flat, and Minn just could not miss a shot for most of the first half. But then MD came out real strong in the second half and shut Minn down like the top 20 team they are supposed to be.

IU almost beat Duke!! That kid Killingsworth is no joke. He's going to be a force in the Big Ten.

What was the final tally? 6-4? UVA beat up on Northwestern in what may be a preview of the Music City Bowl. :hurray:

Maybe it's just me...but if I went to a bowl (and who doesn't these days in I-A), I'd be embarassed to go to a bowl named the 'Music City Bowl'. Bowls are just consolation prizes for the teams that bowed out of national title contention early, and quite often in some cases.

Back to the ACC/B10 challenge...the final tally was 6-5. Duke wrapped it up with the 6th win while the NCS/Iowa game was still going on. That game was BORING.

Thats how State makes the games, I love it!

They are one of the best defensive teams in the nation

I won't deny that their defense is awesome! They always have been as long as I've been watching ACC basketball. I'm a fan of the fastbreak game though, like UNC and MD. Actually, I haven't seen UNC play this year yet, so I don't know if they are playing the fast pace with all those youngin's...but I assume so. Why mess with a system that works???

Roy Williams will always run, run and run some more. However, this year, with Felton gone, they may have some turnover issues, b/c Quentin Thomas is very shaky sometimes, and he's the only true PG they have

As for state, most fans, not including myself, hate the "Princeton style" offense. I love it, b/c it is what true basketball is all about, a team game, not a 5 man one on one game like the NBA where everyone just stands around watching one guy work

NCAA does NOT equal NBA!! I despise the NBA. I agree with you that it is totally a one on one game with everyone else standing around waiting for their chance at one on one. It's a shame really...I watch all these great players develop for a few years (well...not always the case at UNC) into great players...then I just stop watching them when they go to the NBA.

Big money goes to their head

Thats why I've never understood why the NBA gets good ratings

I am happy because Michigan took it to the Hurricanes. The Wolverines are now off to a 4-0 start w/a huge game on Saturday against Notre Dame in South Bend!! Hail to the Victors!

if they had lost that game to the skeleton crew, they'd be ragged on all year

The Cavs beating Northwestern was very satisfying. My voice is a little tired, but it was all for a good cause: helping the ACC take the ACC/Big Ten Challenge for the seventh consecutive time. Though we were picked to finish 12th in the ACC, I'm not so sure. I don't think we'll compete with the big boys, obviously, but Leitao is the man and has gotten this team going. Hopefully, the decent play will continue. By the way, Sean Singletary should be an All-American. I don't care which team (first, second, third), but he is so damn good.

the kid can score, no doubt abou that, but I think there are other things he can work on, hopefully Leitao can inject some life

Point taken, but he's only a sophomore, so I'll take it.

DBACK: ILL

Dee Brown player of the year.

If the dookies played Illinois or Michigan State they would have been run out of the gym. They were unbelievably sloppy last night.

Griz: M go blue? Ugh. WE ARE ND!!!!! :hurray: :hurray:
