"We were the first all-star game to break the 100 mark last year with 102 players signed and we are excited to exceed that number again this year with 107 expected to sign," stated Kenny Hansmire, CEO of the bowl game. "We will continue to set the bar high and work to improve the quality of both our players and the game over-all every year," Hansmire said.

The first Texas vs. the Nation selection came early in the third round when Team Nation defensive tackle Terrance Knighton was selected 8th in the round, 72nd pick overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Robert Brewster followed close behind as the highest drafted member of team Texas. The Dallas Cowboys picked up Brewster as the 11th pick in the round, 75th overall.

Team Texas' Chris Owens and Lardarius Webb were also selected in the third round with twenty-one additional players from both Texas and the Nation picked up in the 4-7 rounds.

In addition to the 25 players who heard their names called on draft day, Texas vs. the Nation had 79 players sign free agent contracts with an additional three players receiving invites to work out with teams and expected to sign contracts in the coming weeks.
