Game 7, down 1 with 1-minute 20 sec. to play and win by 1 in regulation. UNBELIEVABLE!

Last night was telling, and I would venture to say it was very unsettling for the Bruins. Not only did the Canes shut the Bruins out at their place, but they showed that they wouldn't back down from their physical game. They weathered the storm when Boston would hunker down in the offensive zone, disrupted their entries, and proved that they were going to go after Zdeno Chara, even if it meant bouncing off of him, getting back up, and doing it again.
With all of that going into Raleigh, game 3 will be pivotal. The momentum is so strong on the red-and-black's side, I think Boston has got to win game 3 to shut that down. The Canes are so strong with momentum on their side.
My prediction at this point: Canes in 6.

Anybody getting that 2006 feeling again?
It hit me last night after the 2+ minute delayed penalty stand in our offensive zone. That was some amazing hockey. As soon as the Bruins finally touched up and it went to commercial, that "IThis could be our year" feeling hit me again. Good God, that is a great feeling.
I was planning to go on Tuesday, but that may not happen after all...

To be honest I didn't have a feeling we would win in 06. I just enjoyed the games, they were all very exciting. It sucks a little out here, I have to watch most of the game on the net. Caught the OT on Vs. last night.

Actually grew up a Bama football fan and Charlotte everything else fan. But after a year or two at Charlotte, there was only room for one school.
I never liked Chapel Hill, but after my first few years at Charlotte and seeing the ridiculous political and media slant against all schools in western NC to Chapel Hill, I grew to despise them.

Crucial Game 6 coming up... I think if the B's steal this one, they take Game 7 at home.
Nice cheap shot by Walker, by the way. If we win this series, I'll be surprised if we have any D-men left.

Aaron Ward deserves what he got. He facewashed Cullen, then threw a punch at Walker, only to stand there totally stunned that a fighter would actually react to a punch. That was the best punch I've seen in a long time... in hockey, football, basketball, boxing, MMA, whatever. Had it been Lucic or Chara or somebody else known to be a fighter, it wouldn't have been considered a 'cheap shot'. Ward tried to step into the ring and had second thoughts after it was too late.
As far as tomorrow goes, Canes win in OT, 4-3. Canes have to win, it will be my first time seeing them in person... I can not wait for this.

Who's virtually no one? Ton of people picked the Canes to come out of the East before the playoffs started, no one was playing better. I'm not surprised in the least, hopefully they finish off the Bruins tomorrow.

You're damn right!
I think Thomas has been brilliant in goal and his defensemen have certainly been effective as well. However, I would like to see a little more offense in this next game. Much credit to the Hurricanes who have made this a great series.

I guess Scott Walker got a new middle name this week...starts with "F," same a Bucky Dent's. Obviously, he's not as high on the list as Dent.
Still, to know that a member of a Carolina franchise has become something of a villian in the most annoying sports city on the planet...well, that's every bit as satisfying to me as actually celebrating another Stanley Cup title.

Ugh... look at the replay, and pay attention this time. Ward threw a punch at Walker. Just because he doesn't know how to fight doesn't clean his hands on this. He was looking to draw a penalty, and he got what he wanted. Ward was the coward in this exchange... coaxes a fighter into fighting and shows that black eye off like "Waah, look at what he did to me!"
